In the secret arts—especially alchemical ones—you will discover that:

All materials humans consider “non-living” or “soulless” actually possess a form of living awareness of their own. They exist within their own realms, have different forms, and communicate through a language not perceived by humankind. The respect you give them is returned to you in kind.

You will even notice that when someone speaks badly about any of your belongings—your phone, your home, your clothes—you feel as if that person is attacking you. This happens for two reasons:

The first reason:
That object has merged with you and your identity. Without realizing it, you and it have become one. Anything that affects it, you feel directly.

The second reason:
The awareness of matter itself—on the atomic and subatomic level. A deep bond has formed between you and it, and you feel sadness when it is damaged or lost.

You will often notice that when you buy a new phone, the old one begins to deteriorate on its own. If we describe this phenomenon in human terms, we find that even material objects possess awareness and sensitivity that must be respected—if one wishes to reach mastery in the art of being human.
