“More action doesn’t speed up germination; sometimes it only confuses the soil. A garden doesn’t need to be turned over every morning.”

“More action doesn’t speed up germination; sometimes it only confuses the soil. A garden doesn’t need to be turned over every morning.”

I contemplate the image as an answer to my morning question: “Do I need to do more, or receive the activation of what I’ve already completed in previous days?”

I then decide to leave all work-related matters aside, clean the house, and reorganize its mess, with the intention of preparing a space to receive without conditions or expectations. Whenever I feel tired, I allow myself to rest. I repeat inside: there is nothing you need to do beyond what you are doing now. No action beyond the tasks of the moment, no postponement.

I paused for a moment, noticing an inner voice whispering, “Finish quickly so you can catch up.” I replied, “But today I have no tasks except the house—no work, no workshops, no meetings, no forgotten appointments. Late for what?”

Late for writing, reading, planning upcoming work—even late for monitoring the delay itself

Delays in tasks that make the mind feel in control and even entertained. They are tasks my mind loves; they nourish and rebuild it, but sometimes it overindulges in them.

Today I allowed myself to truly live presence while organizing the house. I enjoyed it despite the fatigue and despite these being things that usually don’t appeal to me.

Whenever the idea of delay knocks on my mind’s door, I breathe, smile at it, accept it, and reassure it that what I planted takes time to grow, more time to bloom, and even more time to bear fruit. During these times, I also breathe—to expand, to create, to live.
